It's been a long time since a person left such a deep impression on me. I ran into a familiar face outside the Tavern, and I'm still thinking about it a week after.
I think this is the first national day parade where they showed Lee Hsien Loong crying instead of MM Lee. lol. From a time 44 years ago when such parades were a show of solidarity and strength, the show this year has also transitioned to one that was more towards performance (song and dance) rather than parade (mass displays), and thus more entertaining in my opinion. Even the message has evolved somewhat: from a somber one that revolved around standing steadfast against all odds, to one that calls singaporeans to go forth and conquer, a.k.a. the world is your oyster, carpe diem and all that propaganda...
Nonetheless, a good sign of progress I say. Happy birthday sg.
